Yuanyuangong Temple, a folk secret religious place where three religions of Buddhism, Taoism and Confucianism are combined in one,was located in Huxian county of Shaanxi province in the Ming and Qing Dynasties. This is reflected in the colored paintings of "Wang Chongyangreceives Hao Datong as his disciple"and other drawings alike. These drawings of ancient architecture show the inclusiveness of folk religious culture.Yuanyuangong bears a strong cultural imprint of Quanzhen Sect and this is related to its influence in northern China during the Yuan and Ming Dynasties. The historical facts that Emperor Shizong of the Ming Dynasty believed in Taoism would unlock the mystery of the construction of Yuanyuangong today. The research in this paper can provide a certain academic reference for the protection of cultural heritage of Yuanyuangong Temple.
