Disaster prevention is an essential guarantee for safe production and life in traditional villages. By rethinking the idea of “preventive treatment for disease” in Traditional Chinese Medicine, this paper sorts out four stages of treatment strategies: “preventing the disease before onset, preventing the disease when it is budding, preventing the disease from exacerbating, and preventing the disease from recurrence”. The main types and characteristics of disasters that traditional villages are faced with are analyzed and the disaster occurrence process in traditional villages is consistent with the core healing process of TCM thought of “preventive treatment for disease” essentially. Accordingly, the paper puts forward disaster prevention measures for traditional villages, including comprehensive functions in peace time and disaster, disaster prevention preparation, precautions in advance, prevention and treatment when disaster is occurring, safety response, prevention and control of pre-existing disasters, orderly reconstruction, prevention of recurrence after disaster in order to provide theoretical reference for the construction of disaster resilience in traditional villages in the future.
