Abstract:
Among the few ancient traditional dramatic stages that survive in China, the mural colored carvings of Bozhou Gorgeous Dramatic Stage is unique due to its absorption of landscape painting elements of freehand brushwork. As the classic representative to fuse the freehand landscape painting into the colored carving art in traditional buildings, the dramatic stage embodies the regional culture and aesthetic concept of Bozhou in the early Qing Dynasty. Firstly, there are similarities and differences between the freehand landscape painting and woodcarving art in such aspects as culture, connotation, material and space. Secondly, the landscape painting elements of freehand brushwork in the mural colored carving of The Three Kingdoms is reflected in such cases of painting layout, image colors, art language, the decorative image and so on. The Three Kingdoms mural colored carvings, serving as a successful example to fuse the freehand landscape painting into colored carvings, provide the design mode for our national architecture, which is to be internalized into our cultural consciousness, the theoretical basis for the research of colored carvings in traditional architecture and the creation of mural color carvings of modern dramas. �C;
