摘要:
西方学界对五四运动的研究取得了巨大的成就。无论是从学术的角度还是政治的角度，都值得国内学术界了解、借鉴。通过对西方的五四运动史研究做一全景式的“鸟瞰”，介绍了西方学界有关五四运动研究的历史进程和代表性著作，归纳了西方学者关于五四运动的内涵、起因、领导权、性质、地位、影响、评价、反思等方面的重要观点，论述了西方学者对五四时期主要思潮的论战、五四运动与马克思主义的传播和中国共产党成立的关系等问题的主要看法。希冀能对国内的五四运动研究有所裨益。
Abstract:
The western academia have made enormous achievements in the study of the May Fourth Movement, which merit the understanding and learning of Chinese counterparts politically and academically. With an overall review of the western studies about the May Fourth Movement history, the paper presents the western academia’s research about the main content, the representative works and the important points of view of the May Fourth Movement to provide reference to the study of the May Fourth Movement in China.
