David Harvey believes that anti-value is a factor that hinders the realization of value, and as a denial of value its direct manifestation is an interruption of value circulation. Having a far-reaching influence in real life, anti-value stimulates a more severe debt crisis. Capital is more inclined to manipulate politics and policy in order to counter anti-value, and anti-value also leads to the alienation to the society. Simultaneously, it brings us a new protest field against capitalism. On the one hand, there are limitations in Harvey's theory of anti-value like the utopian fantasy, the incompleteness and the implication of “China threat theory.” On the other hand, this theory is also conducive to further analyzing and criticizing the contemporary capitalism, and also providing useful theoretical references to a certain extent for the formulation of China's economic policies and the deeper understanding of the new changes and development trends of contemporary capitalism.
