摘要:
运用米歇尔·德塞都日常生活实践理论,分析索尔·贝娄小说《晃来晃去的人》中的城市书写。在文本细读基础上,梳理文本中主人公约瑟夫行走在以房间为代表的个人空间、以街道为代表的公共空间的空间实践及其文化隐喻,分析贝娄城市书写中城市镜像下犹太人日常生活的实践状态,剖析犹太文化空间构建的意蕴。
Abstract:
Employing Michel de Certeau’s theory on the practice of everyday life as the interpretive tool, the present study addresses urban writing in The Dangling Man by Saul Bellow on a basis of a close reading of the sample text. Probing into Joseph’s walking practice in both the private space represented by his room and the public space represented by the city streets, the paper aims to delve into the metaphorical implication of the walking practice and analyze the American Jews’ practice of everyday life in modern cities in hopes to examine the cultural significance in such a practice.
